New red wines 🍷 Newly released and available fr New red wines 🍷 Newly released and available from my website now. From your local neighbourhood wine shop/restaurant/bar or @winesutb as your wholesale supplier imminently. Two Sisters 2023 A 70/30 blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. A kiss of oak makes this decidedly grown up, but not too serious. Little Sister MV A multi vintage blend of mostly white grapes from 2024 and Pinots from 2023. It's white wine that thinks it's red wine. Chill it, drink it, repeat. Fable 2023 One year whole bunch maceration in the vineyard. 70/30 Pinot Noir to Pinot Gris. A bit of a beast tannin wise, but still elegant and fresh. May well repay another year in bottle, but damn tasty now. Only 68 bottles produced 😲 Little Red is getting new tyres, so the old ones made as good a place as any to take some pictures. Yes, I'd drunk most of the Fable before I remembered I had to take a picture of it. Harvest is coming up fast this year, and the grape Harvest is coming up fast this year, and the grapes are looking truly splendid. It won't be the biggest harvest ever, but it might just be the best grapes I've ever grown. Harvest details and picking dates will be coming soon, watch this space! @jojocooperphotography and @verdis_horticultural came up to see last week and I had some time out to have some pictures taken and lark about. The work done on Little Red by @lroptionalequip is looking quite amazing. Little Red the Series 3 Land Rover is finally home Little Red the Series 3 Land Rover is finally home. After a year of trials and tribulations which included a new clutch, being driven into whilst parked and then a sort of accidental on purpose rebuild and restore she is ready for harvest. She spent her 50th birthday in bits, but she should be good for quite a few more now. Huge thanks to Rob @lroptionalequip making it possible. Also to @holly__lucia for quite a bit of elbow grease. Little Red is my main vehicle and I'm kind of lost without her, and she works extremely hard over harvest. Freshly bottled, but years in the making. A glori Freshly bottled, but years in the making. A glorious light red wine to see us into the Autumn. A blend of Bacchus with smaller volumes of Regent and Seyval from 2024, blended with Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris that has quietly been resting in barrel from the 2023 vintage. It likes to be chilled, it likes air. The fruit is juicy but the lick of oak gives it a bit of gravitas. At only 9% it really is for drinking though. "Little Sister" will be released early this Autumn. Bottled in dark glass for the record, I ran out and had to use 50 or so clear bottles at the end, so they're mine to drink I reckon 😁
2025 is shaping up to be a decent vintage so far 🤞🤫. It's the Solstice, so it's all down hill from here 😁 and it's the beginning of English Wine Week. So in short go and drink some English wine, ideally mine. Last day of meteorological Spring and what a Sprin Last day of meteorological Spring and what a Spring it was! A couple of very late low temperature events were troublesome but not disastrous. Dryest May in record and the vines have thrived (even if the new hedge has not so much). Rain in the last week has been a real boon and has freshened everything up enormously. Green pruning/shoot selection/bud rubbing to enforce the Winter pruning decisions has been done twice across the whole vineyard so should make keeping the shoots in the paired wires a little easier. . . . #englishwine #vineyard #greenpruning #shootselectiom #winetasting #theFword #summer #rosesummer
